Sho-Bud Showcase Live

August 4th, 2025: Sho-Bud returned to our roots at Robert’s Western World – the very building that housed Sho-Bud Steel Guitar Company during country music’s golden era!

  • This historic venue is where Shot, David, and Harry Jackson skillfully designed legendary steel guitars for celebrated musicians like Lloyd Green, Pete Drake, Don Warden (Dolly Parton), Rusty Young (Poco), Bernie Leadon and Don Felder (The Eagles), Jimmy Day, Don Helms, Jerry Byrd, Barbara Mandrell, Little Jimmy Dickens, George Jones, Roy Clark, and many more.
  • It’s the place where Shot installed Willie Nelson’s Baldwin pickup into a new Martin N20, forging a lasting bond between Willie and Trigger.
  • This is where Eric Clapton acquired six “outdated” Stratocasters, gifting one each to Steve Winwood, George Harrison, and Pete Townsend, while crafting the iconic “Blackie” from the remaining three.
  • Here, David Jackson transformed Roy Orbison’s White Falcon, painting it black, adding Sho-Bud inlays and pickups, and fitting it with a Gibson 400 neck, ultimately creating Orbison’s beloved guitar.
  • This is was the birthplace of BR594.
  • It’s where Jesse Lee Jones continued infusing the honky-tonk vibe into the legendary building, creating a home for his band, Brazilbilly, and a welcoming space for other talents. Where he still maintains an open-door/open-stage policy for pedal steel guitars and their owners. Where the Sho-Bud balcony looks out over her home from the back of the room.

The 400 block of Broadway was closed off in downtown, Nashville, Tennessee, and Robert’s and Sho-Bud brought the legacy full circle…at the sacred space where it all began. The talented and diverse members of Team Sho-Bud, along with other local artists, including Brazilbilly, performed some favorite classics and some new songs that kept the crowd smiling and moving.

This wasn’t just a showcase; it was a pilgrimage back to the birthplace of the greatest steel guitars ever made.

Sho-Bud was thrilled to be a part of Robert’s 26th anniversary celebration, which honored “the music that made Music City.”
