TEAM Sho-Bud Artist

Andrea Whitt

World-class multi-instrumentalist. Accomplished visual artist. A compelling identity entirely her own.

Bio

There are a few artists working today who can do what Andrea Whitt does— she’s uniquely a category of one. She is a Sho-Bud endorsed artist, and the pedal steel sits at the center of the music she creates.

Andrea’s live resume includes ongoing global dates with Moby, Shania Twain’s multi-year Las Vegas residency, three years on the road with Italian rock legend Zucchero, and US tours with Struggle Jennings. She is a regular guest artist with Blues Traveler, has performed at Dead & Co VIP pre-shows, and has shared stages with Slash, Stevie Wonder, Phil Lesh, Shooter Jennings, Lukas Nelson, Marcus King, Robert Randolph, and Jelly Roll — among many others.

Classically trained with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Viola Performance from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, Whitt plays viola, fiddle, and pedal steel across country, rock, jazz, and beyond.

Highlights of recording credits include Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy Award-winning To Pimp a Butterfly, Kamasi Washington’s The Epic, and sessions with Frank Ocean, Iggy Azalea,  Struggle Jennings, Blxst, and Katie Gavin of Muna.

Her Steel Your Face Sundays Grateful Dead cover series has been featured on SiriusXM’s Grateful Dead channel and earned a devoted Deadhead following.

Andrea’s debut record, “Dream Twang” — a genre she is pioneering — will feature her vocals alongside dreamy pedal steel and lush string arrangements, with support from high-profile guest musicians and vocalists.
