TC Furlong

Bio

TC Furlong has spent more than five decades immersed in the art and craft of music—both onstage and behind the scenes—supporting musicians and elevating live sound. His lifelong pursuit of exceptional tone has shaped a career that spans live sound production, musical instrument innovation, touring, and recording.

As a founding member of Jump ‘n the Saddle Band, TC scored a Top 10 hit in 1984 with “The Curly Shuffle,” a gold-certified novelty record that earned the band a place in Billboard’s Book of One-Hit Wonders—alongside icons like Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix.

A guitarist since fourth grade and a pedal steel player since age 18, TC has contributed to hundreds of television and radio commercials, artist recordings, and thousands of live performances. His early instruments included several Sho-Bud pedal steels—a Maverick, a Crossover, and a Pro II—and he still proudly plays his beloved Sho-Bud Pro I today.

For over 20 years, TC has designed and built amplification gear tailored specifically for pedal steel players, earning a reputation for innovation and uncompromising quality. After transitioning from running his live sound company, TC Furlong Inc., TC now focuses on what inspires him most: developing cutting-edge gear for musicians and continuing his work as a pedal steel player/tone freak.
